Shirking and free-riding

It seems like that has been quite abit of shirking and free-riding when it comes to businesses with Econs people. Is it because we're all too rational when it comes to business? That is the scary part of my discipline: everyone is too serious and selfish in someways.

Which kind of turn me off. Because as friends, you are not suppose/criticize to say certain things. Worse still, the mutual respect between friends tend to erode because of our close proximity. We tend to assume and take things for granted.

In contrast, my experience in my Equities Securities class was much more pleasant. Even though we've all S/Ued the course, all of us still stayed on together to finish up the freaking analysis.. Which proves to be quite an irony, cause working with friends is supposed to be much more relaxed and carefree than working with strangers out of your discipline.

So ultimately, I think it boils down to the characteristics of different group members. Some people may be wonderful friends, but terrible teammates. And of course, horrendous friend(?!), but responsible & initiative teammates.

Thanks Weiqiang and Tanhua for staying on together to put up a nice report. I really enjoyed the days of lunching together after class (and projecting together after lunch =x )!

And I hope my coming FYP group will not shirk and free-ride! Cause we simply cannot afford to do so!
